Summary: The Spectrum™ single-motor upright vacuum from Advance creates a whole new category in commercial uprights

New Spectrum upright vacuum from Advance delivers
better dirt pick-up, filtration and durability than pricier models

MINNEAPOLIS – The Spectrum™ single-motor upright vacuum from Advance creates a whole new category in commercial uprights, delivering better dirt pick-up, superior filtration and more convenience features than vacuums costing much more. Having earned the CRI (Carpet and Rug Institute) Seal of Approval, the Spectrum is designed for users who need superior performance at an affordable price.

“The new Spectrum upright vacuum is ideally suited for use in applications where high productivity and low cost of ownership are critical,” says Bob Abrams, product manager, Advance. “Spectrum’s carpet-hugging design and unique three-stage filtration system help deliver the cleaning performance that earned Spectrum its CRI Seal of Approval for dirt pick-up and dust containment.”

Available with either a 12- or 15-inch cleaning path, Spectrum features a two-stage, 1,000-watt motor that pulls dirt and dust from carpets in a single pass to provide cleaner-looking carpets and higher operator productivity. The power head creates a unique seal with the carpet surface, enabling the vacuum’s suction to capture dirt and dust more efficiently than pricier vacuums. Dust stays captured, too, because Spectrum emits a minuscule 6 micrograms of dust per cubic meter of exhaust airflow, compared to CRI standards that allow up to 100 micrograms. This unparalleled dust-containment performance is due to the vacuum’s three-stage filtration system, which includes a two-ply paper high-capacity filter bag, a motor protection filter and a certified HEPA filter that has been individually certified to meet HEPA standards.

“Users of upright vacuums know that drive belts on upright vacs are often a maintenance hassle that usually requires tools and expert help to replace,” says Abrams. “The Spectrum virtually eliminates this maintenance task, because the brush’s sealed drive belt is protected by a unique clutch system and is guaranteed against breakage for two years. It also has a modular airflow design that allows easy access to clear clogs.” For additional operator ease and versatility, Spectrum features no-tools brush removal and a convenient detailing wand with a 1.5-foot hose that stretches to four times that length for hard-to-reach areas. There is also hidden onboard storage for crevice and upholstery tools as well as spare dust bags. Among its other attributes are quiet operation, light hand-feel and a balanced built-in carrying handle.
